Over the past 27 years I have had a varied career in many facets of the industry.

After my training I worked as a full-time  'Fashion Teacher' with NSW TAFE for 12 years.
I also enjoyed extended roles in administration as a ‘Head Teacher of Fashion’ and also as ‘Acting Principal of a TAFE College’ for 4 years.
This translated and extended further  into commencing my own teaching school in 1992,  after having resigned from full-time teaching with TAFE.

Within my own teaching school, I have designed and taught a plethora of classes in the 'Patchwork & Quilting' area.   I have also continued working with NSW TAFE on a part-time basis in providing and teaching courses for various community groups.  In 2006, I also worked in Canberra at an Independent School, designing and teaching 'Patchwork & Quilting' courses for Senior School students.  I have also had experience in the ‘retail’ industry in Canberra involving the demonstrations/sales of sewing machines and fabrics.

I really enjoy teaching, as it gives me the greatest satisfaction to see people understanding and using newly acquired skills through learning.
In 2005 I decided to take this to a different level by creating a website where people (even beginners)  could achieve through my 'training and expertise in instruction' outside the formal classroom.   To complement my skills and achieve this objective, I provide my own easy to understand and make......quilt patterns, kits and e-books at this website.

In April 2008, I moved back to my home town 'Orange' which is situated in the Central Western region of NSW.  In July 2009, my wonderful father Allan Bassmann passed away after a long fight for life, a man who cared and gave to other people in life.....
What we have done for ourselves alone dies with us; what we have done for others and the world remains and is immortal.
