In my many years in the sewing and quilting industry I have found one of the most common frustrations of the new, novice or even more experienced quilter is to find clear and concise instructions that are simple to follow.

For me the obvious solution was to create a range of "Teach Yourself Quilting Books" that could be understood from a basic to an advanced skill level. My target audience has always been the beginner and the average student, who in the most part make up the majority of my classes, and as such this is who these books will primarily help. Though I have found even the more experienced quilter is not averse to learning a few new things or different ways to approach what they are doing.

Machine Patchwork & Quilting’ for beginners.

This book is modelled around the lessons & instructions that I give to beginners, in a  5 week course (15hrs). The book covers every aspect that people need to know & learn to make their first quilt by machine. From shopping for fabrics & equipment….cutting/sewing.. to the finished quilt.. The methods are the easiest/quickest/most commonly used today.

These methods are the major ones used in patterns that people will then buy in the future. I have found people are confident and competent enough after the course.....to be able to ‘go it alone/ or in their ‘group’ making all sorts of machined quilts …. then returning to classes when they need to learn more specialized skills of patchwork or quilting (eg. free motion quilting, foundation piecing etc)
